NGOs are the agents of social change. They are not the part of problem. Change is essential for societies. These promote social change by indicating social issues of societies like unemployment, poverty, alcoholism, AIDS, environment issues, social disorganization etc. NGOs work for the people and their recent situation, they are very helpful in providing assistance to people and bring changes within their lives. Many workers in NGOs work for the welfare of society and leads to many positive changes. NGOs can work for well being of society by helping and rehabilitating peoples with defects, they provide shelter, diet, care to people in difficulty in order to bring alterations in their life so that they become productive members of society.

You are right. But what is the need of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) when state agencies are responsible for the solution of the problems?

State agencies have many other responsibilities, besides this they are working under the state's order, they can not able to take actions without governmental order on the other hand non governmental organizations are free to work for people whenever they consider necessary at the grass root level. NGOs are more active than the state organizations or agencies as they can pressurize government and other officials for to take actions over different issues. they can able to make a local problem a national problem by getting public attention over certain issues. NGOs are not bound to government but take actions to empower people who are in difficulty. Example for that is "DUPLEX smile again" by Musarat Misbah, she was concerned about female who suffered from burning and acid throwing. In order to work for them she established a NGO to protect them form these issues. Today this organization work for thousand of females.
