IN this video I have gain the main away to save the languages from extinction .
languages can be safe if theirs records is available and works in written shape of a language .
if the last speaker of a language dies other can learn this from existing materials ,books and history ,and also in this video the man is collecting the information from the languages knowing people.
to preserve languages works on writing and publishing about the language and history ,way of speaking are essential.
speaking habitually of new generation to know customs and rules of language can preserve language from extinction.

by Fiza Mengal s/d/o Jaffer khan Mengal -
Basically there are many languages that are endangered or getting disappeared and it's a bad thing.we can prevent it from extintion like Language preservation is the effort to prevent languages from becoming unknown. A language is at risk of being lost when it no longer is taught to younger generations, to speak the language as they grow, so they will then teach their children the language as well. In many cases, this option is nearly impossible. There are often many factors that endanger a language, and it is impossible to control each of these factors to ensure its survival.
The Internet is also an option it can be used to raise awareness about the issues of language extinction and language preservation. It can be used to translate, catalog, store, and provide information and access to languages.

This great attempt of DANIEL BOGRE UDELL (co-founder and director, Wikitongs),along with hundreds of volunteers, to save endangered languages, world histories, cultures, the people's recognition by archiving every single detail, and going to  the ends of the earth to record these languages to let their future generations revive them, deserves veneration no end.

  • As per thoughts of K.David Harrison(a linguist, author, anthropologist, filmmaker and activist for the documentation and preservation of endangered languages), Language gives us insight into history, culture and other brain functions. It must be saved from extinction. Because we wouldn't really be called humans without language diversity. It can be preserved through digital resources. Such as 'TAKING DICTIONARIES'

Well in my opinion is think we should save the language extinction.Endangered languages, much like endangered species of plants or animals, are on the brink of extinction.A language is considered nearly extinct when it is spoken by only a few elderly native speakers. Like if they don't speak it or get any interest out of it it will nearly become extint we can save it in the form of inter net or written documents etc.

Re: 13.2 Saving Languages From Extinction

by Abdul sattar s/d/o Rafiullah khan -
My main take aways from this lesson , that how we can save the language from extinction. The video is completely based the top techniques through which the dead languages can revive again by future builders on condition that if they want .

1,,, (Writing Materials)
Like,,,,
BOOKS /WORKS ( books plays imminent role saving the language from extinction)
If we take the exemple of Old English, we will come to know how English language was saved . In middle ages when the Normans conquered the England so they banned English and made French as official language. The English then turned to be the language of third class families but the manuscripts and writing materials of Anglo Saxon and Geoffrey Chucer revived the English again . After Chaucer era English again raised and writers started writing. They enlightened every aspect and topic of life in their works .
Newspaper , magazine ,folklore literature, lyrics of any song etc all things come in Writing materials.

English is now an international language due to these rich contributions of English writers . In England it is a mother toungue but the countries which were the colonies of England , use English as second language or official language.

So the Theme of this Take away is that writing materials plays key role reviving or saving the language from extinction.

2,,,, (Net Facility/ Contribution)

This is one of the best technique and safe step to save language from extinction. For example if we upload the documentation , manuscripts and main works of our language on Net so this would help our upcoming generation to see their language in pure form on Net. Net would also disclose your language to all globalised world and inform the remote masses about your native toungue.

Extra Information ( the same steps or now going to be taken for pashto in our area by writers like Qader Mujrim , Munir Buniri , Att-u-Rehaman attai, Aziz Ullah and many more who are serving to save it (Pashto) from extinction in coming decades)

(ACCORDING TO MY RESEARCH)

These two are main and only resources to save any language from extinction.

Dear Abdul Sattar, I am personally not agree and accepting your first take away, because it was not the "writing materials of Anglo Saxon and Geoffrey Chucer that revived the English again" (cpied from Abdul Sattar's reply). Actually it was PRINTING PRESS (inventor Johannes Gutenberg) and RENAISSANCE MOVEMENT that revived English language again.

Now you have to impress me with proof that it was writing materials of Anglo-Saxon and Geoffery Chucer's that revived the English language again. Otherewise you have to accept your mistake.

Good question Dear Meraj ,,,,

When the time of Chaucer age started in Mid ages English language was mostly forgotten by masses and higher class families . At that English was just considered as dead language but by the virtue of Geoffrey Chaucer, William Lang land and John Gower English language revived , that's why Chaucer is considered as the father of English literature. The works Chaucer, William, and Gower revived the English again .

How languages are saved from extinction ?
After watching this amazing and interesting video of Daniel Bogreudell , we are able of how languages are saved from extinction .
Well ! Languages can be save by publishing them in the form of books , magazine , and many more . We can preserve language through recordings . If we record language will be more better for next generation. Because if they were unable to speak . Similarly by publishing of language in the form of books , can preserve history of our ancestors. Through language writing we can also preserve our culture , civilization , habits and living resources.
But now a days in Pakistan we are unable to preserve our common language Urdu . Because of forigen languages which are Spoken in Pakistan such as English. Urdu language is being mixed with English language . Most of words of English language is used in Urdu language. Similarly other languages in Pakistan such Pastho , Balochi , Sarayiki , Sindhi as well as Punjabi are being mixed with Urdu language and as well as English language.

Q=How to save a language from extinction?
Answer:
The video which is dedicated by "Daniel Bogre" is based on the preservation of a language. There are different ideas about best ways to save a language of which the most notable one is, the elders should teach the native languages to the newborns and make it a part of their routine life to interact, so that they may transmit such a language to the new comers.
Secondly, written manuscripts texts, and documents are playing a significant role to make a language alive and impressive forever.Written materials reflects their memorial regards and signs to the readers.
For example: the manuscript which put a new life in English literature and language is "Beowulf".It is considered the backbone for raising and development for the world of English, and due it's mobility and leadership, English occupied the highest position in history.By saying this,we can know the importance and power of written records .
Thirdly, nowadays the internet is the tremendous way to preserve a language through recordings, videos and written documents about the native literatures and linguistics of any languages in the world. New technologies have brought a great revolution making a systems for saving the spoken Data in to It, and whenever someone wanted to see, listen that can find it in a easy way. The very information in any forms can remain in all the eras in internet to survive in a protected way. So, with such facilities of internet, there is less chance to vanish a language from it's existence.saving languages means saving cultures and costoms for a society.

Brilliant work! You have raised excellent points! Yes, teaching native language is responsibility of elders. There are many times when elders in family don't teach indigenous language to their children, because they don't want to influence their English/Urdu accent. How do we help those kids preserve their language?

In this vedio I have gain to save language form exctinctiom
I think the best possible way to prevent the language Extinction it actually speaks the language to pass your children.to writte and publish the language. Then to make moviyand to write some in the language.then the native speaker must respect and valve their native language so that they speak and teach to their children.with out that no one can save the language. The native speaker really want to maintain their language and majority must them to help them .So I don't even want to start analysing that and I am not qualified do that either.

Question:

Discuss your main take away from this talk? Share at least 2 or 3 of them.

Answer:

As in the video, a speaker is saying that at least 7000 of languages are speaking in the world and about 500 of them are endanger. So, the above given video is totally based on how to save languages that are critically endangered of extinction. The man named Daniel (The co-founder and director of Wikitongues), with hundred of volunteers around the world, is trying his best to preserve languages that are already endanger of extinction.

The main take aways or the key messages which I learned from this video are as following;

Firstly, as like Mr. Daniel gathered some active members of different languages which are endangered (For Example:  Tunica, Locano, Aru, etc ) and make their video in which the speakers talked about their culture, history, etc. This method is very easy and beneficial to keep alive an endangered language from extinction.

Secondly, According to Daniel, “Wikitongues has recorded over 435 languages from over 70 countries”. So, If the last native speakers of these 435 languages died and become a dead languages, than these recorded materials can help us to brought back that languages from dead. For example; Hebrew is ones become a dead language but with the help of its written manuscripts or book it become an alive language again.

SUBMITTING REPLY ON THE BEHALF OF ( ATTA-U-REHMAN )

Main Take aways of this lesson.

A language can be save from extinction that the parents should speak and teach to their children in their native language.

An other source of saving language from extinction is that the writers of the language should be appreciated and encouraged for writing meaningful works . It also help preserving language from extinction.

An other important way to save language from extinction is to produce the daily magazines , newspapers and books . It keep the language away from the danger of extinction.

Replying This activity on the behalf of (Khadija) d/o (Adam Haider). Student of English literature Dept sem1.

Saving language from extinction resources....
1,,, If the natives of any language use the net and start publishing their own language books , diaries, biographies and every day or daily newspapers . It is strongly accepted on international level that this language is out of risk of extinction.

2,,,, The encouragement or Facilitating of writers regarding any field , can also save language from extinction. If the writers are allowed to write freely (what so ever they want to write) can also save language from extinction. Writers of any native language have helped and preserved the language from extinction...

3,, Write ups also helps to preserve language from extinction....

4,,,, If the families try to train their children to learn their native language, so in this case again the language is saved from extinction.

Re: 13.2 Saving Languages From Extinction

by Rasool Sayyaf s/d/o Abdul Khaliq -
In the above video , i got several steps where a language can be safe from extinction .
Here are the main take aways of the video given below .

1 , Some languages have one thing in common when the last speaker dies there are the materials where the same language can be spoken with the help of its available materials .

2 , People can promote and teach the languages to the next geneartion , the future generation can revive their languages even if they go extinct .

A extinct language becomes alive when you go for its materials ,
e.g. its available books , history and written work .
You may speak that langauge again when you read about its materials .
The people can teach any language to the next generation and make that generation able to speak any language with the help of their knowledge about language .
A language will not be extinct when it is being spoken by the people again and again .
