My thoughts about changes in language.
Language is fun , basically it's acquisition start from basic age called childhood. Language learning and as well as language acquisition both develops changes in language . The changes in a language starts from basic age . But it's missing words get started at mutual age. When we become capable of learning more grammar of changes in a language , such as by reading grammar books . The changes in a language is due changes in age of human . Whatever we learn at childhood is different when we learn at age of 18 or 20 . Because when we get mature we become capable of removing mistakes and making our language soo comparable. That's why we improve changes in a language . In this category linguistic play a vital role to role over both on language learning and its acquisition .

Well my thoughts on this is
Language change is the phenomenon by which permanent alterations are made in the features and the use of a language over time. All natural languages change, and language change affects all areas of language use. Types of language change include sound changes, lexical changes, semantic changes, and syntactic changes.
Language change can be a good thing because it keeps everything interesting and current.

Great video! Well my thoughts on Language is that First, it changes because the needs of its speakers change. ... Many of the changes that occur in language begin with teens and young adults. As young people interact with others their own age, their language grows to include words, phrases, and constructions that are different from those of the older generation.
Next is that Language has changed alot the language has lost many words and added many words, and some words have changed in meaning.
I think that language change is not necessarily good or bad, but it's important to look at who is changing the language and why. If most people are changing the language in a particular way because they find that change genuinely useful, then it seems like a good thing, or at least a harmless thing.

Thank you maam! it was a great video with very usefull information about the changes in english language.
Everyone knows that language changes. It's easy to pick out words that have only been recently introduced (bromance, YOLO, derp) or sentence constructions that have gone out of style (How do you do? Have you a moment?), but we are constantly in the middle of language change that may not be noticeable for decades or even centuries. Some of the biggest and most lasting changes to language happen slowly and imperceptibly. The Great Vowel Shift, for example, was a series of pronunciation changes occurring over 350 years, and not really noticed for over 100 years after that. It resulted in an intelligibility gap between Modern and Middle English and created the annoying misalignment between English pronunciation and spelling. But it was impossible to see while it was going on.
Language is always changing, evolving and adapting to the needs of its users. This isn't a bad thing, if english hadn't changed since 1950, we wouldnt have words to refer to medems,fax machines, or cable TV. as long as the needs of language users continue to change,so will the language.
And there I want to share a line professor David crystal said in this video,
"What ever english was yesterday, is different today and its going to be different tommorrow".
And he is right english is changing continuously and it will change further by the passage of time.

My thoughts about language changes !
Language is fun , both learning and acquisition start from the age of childhood.
However language changes for several reasons. First, it changes because the needs of its speakers change. New technologies, new products, and new experiences require new words to refer to them clearly and efficiently. Consider texting: originally it was called text messaging, because it allowed one person to send another text rather than voice messages by phone. As that became more common, people began using the shorter form text to refer to both the message and the process, as in I just got a text or I'll text Sylvia right now.

As I personally assessed the effectiveness in the statements of Sir prof. David Crystal, he(profoundly honoured) is factually and absolutely correct; all regarding the changes in English language.
Here, the fascinating point is with the kids that how they play with the language at the age of especially three or four.
As per the ideas of prof. David Crystal, the two biggest professional playing areas with the language are the advertising and the newspaper headlines where they play with the language, like at many places, using 'K' instead of 'C' or like the utterance of weird sentences, for example ( RAIN STOPS PLAY ) or ( PAIN STOPS PLAY ).
In fact, there appear no changes in the basic rules of grammar. Most changes appear to be the VOCABULARY, a little in GRAMMAR and SPELLING and PRONUNCIATION is in a steady slow change.
We always find two forms of English;
1) A natural evolving kind of English
2) Standard English

The overuse of every word indeed irritates, like in every sentence using (like or really) really irritates.
Prof. David Crystal insisted '' NOTHING IS PREDICTABLE'' here he meant; what is going to happen next in any sorta language is unknown.

SOME MORE POINTS ADDED BELOW REGARDING ''CHANGES IN ENGLISH LANGUAGE''
1) In old English, a small winged creature with feathers was known as BRID. Overtime, the pronunciation changed into BIRD.
2) There is the adoption of new words from different languages and cultures and the words that English often borrows from other languages are called LOANWORDS. For example, a word like 'AVATAR' is borrowed from Sanskrit which means descent. It first appeared in English in late 18th century, it referred to the descent of the deity to the earth.
3) The frequent changes in a language are often socially problematic because people lose mutual intelligibility and show inefficiencies in communication. Language change is functionally disadvantageous inasmuch as it hinders communication.
4) Changes originate in language learning or through language contact, natural processes in usage and social differentiation.
5) Semantically, if we reckon about the changes in English language after its base of the Anglo-saxons, we will come across many changes, like in connotations referred to as either elevation or deterioration etc.

First of all you are saying that there appear no changes in basic rules of grammar. But, in the coming text your are opposing your own thoughts. For instance, you are saying a little changes appears in GRAMMAR. HOW! How it is possible? You have to say one thing weather changes appears in grammar or not...

I really appreciate your deep analysis over recondite facts.
What I meant in this thought-provoking sentence, was the entirety of changes that occurs throughout the English language.
If possible, then please go through the comment one more time and try to ponder over what I have posted.
For instance: In standard English ( I am a doctor )
Can a different format be produced of this simple sentence. I mean, Can I say ?? ( I are a doctor ) or ( I doctor am a ) or in such assertion, I, for sure, can supplant words, not the basic rule.

Actually; I am saying that how you are opposing your own thoughts by yourself?

For instance: saying that no changes occures in grammar but little appears in grammar.

Main 5 take aways of this lessons are mentioned in below

1,,,, Vocabularies are the main change in language because each day 3 new words are added in English language borrowed from other languages or created by natives of a language. This is the turning point of language changes.

2,,,, Using abbreviations in text is very cool and time saving technique which is probably used by youths .when the same strategy or technique used by the elders it doesn't become attractive anymore. So the youths again turned to use or write the complete words in order to write abbreviations any more . This make the language modern and interesting.

3,,,, The signs of expression enrich the language upto some level but no over using of it . This would change the meaning of the message which is really going to be delivered to someone.

4,,, In language the spelling and grammar didn't change anytime if you resemble the today's grammer and spelling with 500 or 600 earlier ages so you will see no change and difference between them.

5,,, Emojis which represent a whole sentence by a stickler,  is a new innovation which makes language attractive for readers and writers.  This would make language developed and modern. This would not change the language but with the passage this would be a boring technique for writers and readers , so then this would itself disappear.

To be perfectly frank, I am keen on points, that you have mentioned above. Could you crystallize the very first point herein, please?
What I mean to say here, is, how is it possible ?? like, can a native speaker or inhabitant create words themself or by their own? For instance, consider, I as a native New Yorker, can create officially usable/functional words to be used all over THE STATE?

The words means vocabs are borrowed from other languages is a common point all knew it.
Here by this point I mean if any new invention or discovered thing , so for that the natives creat new word or vocab for it .. it is also a common point in this modern globalised world.. but even the natives are doing it from the centuries and centuries...

I am not agree with your this point because David Crystal is saying that in early ages their is only used of "must" but with the passage of time the grammarian or speakers of the English language also introduced "have" for the formal use of must....

1,,,,The basic grammar is same , it didn't change .
2 ,,, also the spelling didn't change but slightly

According to David Crystal spelling and grammar are the most conservative phenomena that didn't change anytime.

This is a very informative video in which prof David crystal giving us information about changes in English language ,
I have watched this completely and want to describe which i gain from this .
language is a play and get changes on daily bases in grammar ,spelling ,pronunciation ,vocabulary ,
in grammar peoples break the rules and make new words and include these in English language .
in Spelling they change spellings like beans /beanz ,
in pronunciation people change pronounce and they round the lips to pronounce the word specially with babies ,
in vocabulary new words on daily base add to English language .
peoples loves to play with English language, specially babies make fun with language in their starting age .
our technology gives us new words on daily base and thus language get also changes .
New generation use new words as a fashion and with the passage of time by its most usage those words become part of English language .
when Cricket match is going on and rain comes and players stop playing and it comes to seem in next day newspaper headlines that (rain stops the play )( pain stops the play) if we know the background can easily understand the joke ,
most of people use the abbreviations in text like they write adv for advocate ,and uni for university .
and Internet also gives changes in English language ,and emojis also effect it .
language transmit here and there and get changes like if a person comes from Britain to America in his language he mix both accent and varieties . change in his language occur like this .

Dear bro,
Lots of word we use today and are the part of our dictionaries, are the new generation fashioned words like1 (on pointe) mean perfect ..your dress is on pointe.
2.red lip.in past girls said I wear red lip stick but now they just say I wear red lip.
3.(go to )mean favorite. This is my go to cream .
4.Zoo is basically zoological garden but now we just say zoo .
5.flu is basically influenza but now we just say that I am suffering from flu.
These all are fashionable changes which ours people did .
Suppose we people use different new words in our own mother tongues which are not completely part of language but become soon .like .Boly to?we use when we do not catch someone completely and he repeat the word.

Its difficult to write words which people speak with round lips ,they just speak this as a trend and it may be the part of language in future.

Well ! My thoughts about language changes !
Following are a few changes in a language with example such as ,
1 : lexical change,
Such a change in a language that refers meaning or use of word. It can also shift preference for one word or phrase over another . This change can easily be observed.
E.g " going out with"

2 : semantic change,
Such a change which is envolve to compare modern meaning of a word with it's original use.
E.g " Awful " meaning to inspire the fair
It's original use is " ful of awe "

3 : syntactic change ,
Such a change that refers change in the grammar of language .
E.g 1 .The boy jumped happily .
2 . Happily, the boy jumped.

As we know that changes in language are obvious.

Such as: some times we invent a new thing at that time we have to give it a new name,in this way a 

New word is added into a language.

Now think of new modern widely used words:

Google,SMS, blogging, Facebook,Insta etc.

Now let's have a look in 1990,

At that time we didn't use these type of words.

Gradually as we started creating new things we also gave them new names and new words came into language and language begin to change.

Entire language is not changed but some new words take it's place and if we travel back we may also not understand some of their words.

Such as:

The Smiths will be in their clarence and the browns will probably come in a landu.

(Clarence and Landu) means type of horses drawn four wheeled carriage.

As car was invented we Left the use of these words.

In this WaY a language keeps on changing.

The essential take aways of this interview by David crystal. 


1= The some short sentences used in newspapers columns of any language didn't gave any sense if you don't the background of it .

Ex,,,= Rain stopped play.

It means the started and the players and committee announced to stop the match. 


2 = David says each and single day three (3) words are added in English language.  English is gaining every day new words which is a new and most beneficial factor for it . This is the good result 2.5 billion of population is learning English language...

Answer:

According to David Crystal, “ language changes so rapidly, whatever the English language were yesterday, its different today and its gonna be different tomorrow."

 Some take away from this video are as following;


No 1: Language Play:

Language play is a method that is used by language players (language experts or language professionals) by using of words in different way to create new meaning.

For example:

(Lets take the example given by David Crystal in the same video)

One day in a cricket match a snake got onto the pitch and bit a batsman. He was in great pain. So, they called off the match and the headline next day was; “pain stops play.”

(So for understanding, the reader must know about the background otherwise he will never understand the message)


No 2: Vocabulary Changes:

Vocabulary plays a vital role in changing language. In English language every given year new words come into use. Similarly, about five percent of the vocabulary become obsolete. As Sir David Crystal claims that two or three words come into use in English language Everyday. So, it clearly shows that vocabulary is also work in changing language.

For example:

“Groak” is an obsolete word in English language which means; (to silently watch someone while they are eating) (*this word and definition is copied from Google). But in today English nobody is using this word.


No 3: Messaging Abbreviation:

The 21th century teenagers started messaging abbreviation and emoji instead of writing the whole word and sentence. That is also one of the most turning point in changing language.

For example:

C is used for “See”

U is used for “You”

Gre8 is used for “Great”

The emoji "🤔" is used for “Thinking”.

1: vocubulary . vocubulary are the main change in language in day by day many words are created and added are borrowed in language.simillary in our language we have seem it that many words are changed and borrowed for other language.
2; spelling.many people change the word spelling but unfortunately Grammer and spelling doesn't change.

Language Keep Changes With The Passage OF Time As From The Age of 5 year to the 13 year a child speak like childish for example he can not completely pronounce words properly After The age Of 13 A child starts developing pronunciation Like to speak word properly as it should be pronounced the After the age of 18 a person developing his tone. How the Way you speak the way you used the words and how your word effect another person it starts developing from the age of 18 . Your tone can explain your mode and your behavior you wants to say something else but want to show something else from your tone Then at the age of 25 A person can understand other's people their language and their words and the actual meaning of their words. All living languages change. They have to. Languages have no existence apart from the people who use them. And because people are changing all the time, their language changes too, to keep up with them. The only languages that don't change are dead ones. Even so, it's possible to bring a language back from the grave and make it live – and change – again.

Vocabulary is the area where we most often notice the way language changes, because each year hundreds of new words arrive in a language. We only come across a few of them in everyday life, of course. Most new words are technical terms to do with specialized areas of knowledge we don't know anything about, or they're slang words which are used by a very small group of people.

I have learn a lots of things from this interview of david crystal.Exactly, that there are different verities of languages and it changes rapidly. English language was different yesterday,it is different today and it could be different tomorrow. Language plays different ways by electronic device like radio,television, mobile phones etc. Mostly it can learn with curiosity and enthusiasm. Language have different principles and rules by which we pronounce sepratly on the conditions. Pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, and spelling are the basic rules to use any language to learn. Language is a fun which learn by different ways in societies. The very bigning children play with language in the age of 2 or 3 year with family members at home.

Language Is Something Than is Changeable And Changes In Language Is Must There Are Many Stages Of Changes In Language. 1st is Change In Vocabulary, 2nd is Change In Spelling, 3rd is Change In Tone, 4th Is Change In Pronunciation. these all are the changes of language . Firstly We Acquire Any Language Then With The Passage Of Time We bring changes in that language by using Different Vocabularies Different Pronunciation And Different Spelling To Sound It Good. For Example In English Language We Can See Changes In Past We Used Shall but not we are just Using Will. Even Shall is called the past of will. As There Are Many Words Which were used at the time of old English as Shakespeare age we call it old English Because now we don't use those words. Those words have been changed into new words new spelling new Pronunciation and new wording that's why language keep changes . It doesn't matter what language it is or which language you've acquired but the passage of time and improvement we will see changes in language That's what is being discussed in this interview

Answer=
It is a well explained video dedicated by professor David Crystal.Here we will learn how there appear changes in a language.He says that the very visible change that occurs in a language is "vocabulary" ; language has productab as people use the new modern words that they bring in to their daily conversation and writing etc. Language is an living organizm that was another shape in previous times and it is another style in the present era , and it would be in other shape and style in the upcoming time.So,With the passage of time language change itself as we can find extreme changes between the old English and the modern English texts.
He further says that another obvious changing that appeared in language is "pronunciation".
We can point out the pronunciation changes between the American English and British Englis , and even in a family the people pronounce a word in to different forms ; here he gives the example of the below words:
Bees, teens, means
In the above mentioned words that last letter (s) is generally pronounced as ""s"" =soul
but here, in these words it is pronounced as" z".
"Abbreviation" also plays a vital role in language change.
The narrator here give the example of abbreviation .He says that the people nowadays use these forms in text messages to avoid time wastage like..
Instead of how are you?
we write. how r u?
Instead of can you see me?
we write can u c me?
Language can also changed by the grammar specially in "Model Auxiliary" verb.
=Example:2
You "must" attend the class on time.
Here we just put stress on doing so to the Listener to do so.
=Example:2
You "have to" attend the class on time.
Here we just suggest someone to do so he/she can do it or not he/she has option.
In this sense the purpose automatically changed and thus,it brought changes in to language..

But here I just want to add one thing that in word soul ( s is pronounced like z) but this technique is applied in Amirican English,
In British English it same ( S is pronounced like S)

My take away's from this interview are that:
In the observed world, it is a constant fact that change is continual & inevitable. In human language the situation is no different.
All language changes over time. This is inevitable for a variety of reasons, and it is the reason we have different languages and dialects.
While Grammar handbooks and dictionaries.
All languages change all the time(except dead ones). Language change is just a fact of life; it cannot be prevented or avoided. All the worries and fears notwithstanding, life goes on with no obvious illeffects in spite of language.
Language change occurs at all levels; at the level of sounds, at the level of words and their meanings; at the level of grammar or the rules of the language. 
If the new form spreads, the change is in progress. One area of vocablury where this is very easy to see is in the slang words used by the young people  to mean. 
In the last my point of view "change is legitimate and inevitable, for our language is a mighty river, picking up silt and flotsam here and discarding it there, but growing ever wider and richer" .

The point or thing that keeps you motivated in learning a language is the diversity of and variation of languages that it rapidly changes.
There are two forces that drives the language:
Intellegibility it means that the individual should know what they are talking about and how they are talking.In general it means to understand one another.
The other thing is the standard form of writing that means the written form. As the written form of language is slightly different from the verbal language.
The other thing which we learn from this video is the way of updating your language. Ok so the young generation helps us to keep updated to the new forms of language like as I mentioned earlier that language is changing so we can only come to know about the new things when we are in touch with the teenagers.

3 main take aways that I learnt from David Crystal  interview language changing.

1,,,,Each day 3 new words are added in English language and these words are enhancing the vocabs of English language. 
2,,,Emoji is the best technique where we represent the whole sentence by a single sticker . Like 😰shows sadness. A good chance for language..
3 ,,, abbrevational technique make the text very cool for reader to read the text. This change make the language interesting.
