Objectives of the Course

The purpose of this course is to provide the students with a background in statistical principles so that they become proficient user of statistical analysis. The students will learn how to describe data effectively, to run a simple regression, and to interpret the results.. 

Descriptive statistics is the art of summarizing data. Topics include: frequency distribution, Average, the standard deviation and correlation. Statistical Inference is the art of making valid generalizations from samples. Topics include: estimation, measurement error, tests of statistical significance
